When you are on a mission to get fit and toned, one of the hardest areas to reduce fat and get results is the lower abs area. This is a problem, as most people want to have a washboard, rippled stomach to show off with their fitness results. Luckily, there are exercises for lower abs that can get you the precise results that you are looking for with only a few minutes of exercise devoted to it every day.
To get the quickest and most effective results for your abdominal muscles, there are two things that you should do: the first is that you should combine the following sets of exercises with aerobic and cardio work outs too and secondly, you should do these exercises every day. Cardio work will help to burn off any excess fat that is handing around on the gut and by doing the exercises every day you will be able to strengthen and tone the muscles in as shorter period of time as possible.
The following exercises are excellent, because not only do they work, but they also require no equipment or expensive outlay. All you need is a patch of space where you can lie down on the floor. That means that there are no more excuses for doing nothing, the ball is in your court.
The starting position for the three exercises is lying on your back with your legs stretched out on the floor. You place your palms under the small of your back in order to support this area and prevent any strain there. The first exercise requires you to lift the two legs together raising them to a ninety degree angle with your body. Pause there for a moment and then slowly return the legs to the starting point. Legs need to be kept straight and the movement must be controlled for maximum effect.
The next exercise starts the same way, except you are bringing only one leg up to the position above your head. Then, as you bring down the raised leg to the starting position, you raise the other leg up to over your head. This movement looks like a scissor action and it needs to be done in a controlled manner as well in order to get the best results.
The scissor movement can also be done going side to side. To do this exercise you raise both legs a little off the floor and then scissor out and in from side to side with the legs. This particular abs exercise is excellent for toning the abdominal obliques, toning your waist and getting rid of love handles.
